We are pleased to inform you that Computer Society of India is organizing its 52nd Annual Convention on the Theme "Social Transformation- Digital Way" during January 18 to 21, 2018 at Science City, Kolkata. Pre-Convention Tutorial will be held on January 18,2018. It is planned to be inaugurated on January 19, 2018 . Over thousand delegates, from all walks of life, from academic institutions, government departments, industry houses and other stake holders are expected to attend the Convention.
The Annual Convention of CSI is always an important and prestigious event of the Society being held since the year 1966 when CSI-66 the first Annual Convention with the theme An Ideal Computer Map for India was held at Kolkata. Since then this annul mega event of the Society has been held at different cities having infrastructure facilities for organizing such events..
The Kolkata Chapter hosted this event eight times in 1966, 1978, 1986, 1990, 1994, 2001, 2006 and 2012. One still remembers the success of the Silver Jubilee Convention in 1990 held at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata.
This year this is being held at Science City which provided, as in earlier occasions, required infrastructure with its ideal vent environment. As is followed every year, there will be invited addresses and general speeches of interest, paper presentations, panel discussions in multiple/track sessions, covering diverse topics of interest. Proceedings of selected papers will be published by Springer. The theme will deliberate on the social transformation through different digital ways, connectivities, as governments, both at the central and state levels are using technology to make this transformation to achieve doorstep connectivity with its citizens. There will be exhibition stalls as well where state-of- the- art and emerging products and services will be showcased and demonstrated to the interested delegates.
I am sure extensive opportunities will be available to encourage interacting and build everlasting relationship among all the participants in the Convention at all levels and also with the number of sponsors/partners at different levels. We firmly believe this Convention will be a grand success and contribute actively towards the holistic development of the Society and make the digital mission and social transformation in the years to come.Regional Vice President, Region II, Computer Society of India
